What Should I Get My Wife For Mother’s Day? Let Me Help You

May 9, 2014 by amushro

I used to be a huge fan of my birthday and make my loved ones celebrate it for days and days. Then I became a mother and realized that birthdays really don’t take a lot of work. You know, all you have to do is be born to get that day as your own. However, Mother’s Day is a different story. I earned this day. I earn this holiday EVERY SINGLE DAY. And since I’ve earned this day, I am going to make sure my day and your day are fabulous. ย Check me out on What the Flicka? and my list of things your husband should be buying you for Mother’s Day. (Click right here!) When you are done reading and sharing this list with him. Tell me what you want this Mother’s Day!

My husband just asked what I wanted and I was honest – I want hours of quiet time to get (somewhat more) caught up on work and housework. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’d rather have that for my gift than keep being stressed out!

For mother’s day, I just want to take a shower without an audience. LOL

I actually like getting flowers! They make the whole house smell so wonderful for weeks!

I actually ended up picking out my own Mother’s Day gifts this year while we were out in San Diego. I found a few things that I just had to have!

I just had our fourth kid a month ago, so I’m pretty pooped must days. I told him I was going to make him a “Honey-Do” list for Mother’s Day. He can cook and do all the chores, while I sleep all day =P

I got my Mother’s Gift already to myself which was a new lap top. Now I just want a break and to sleep in.

Haha! Actually, I get flowers about once or twice a year — so I enjoy it when they’re delivered to my house. But, in addition TO flowers….I’d love to be able to do absolutely NOTHING all day long! No laundry, no cooking, no cleaning, nothing. But eating what I want and watching TV. All day long. haha.

Honestly a day where I’m not asked a question…unless it’s “what do you want” and it’s met by whining. So, yeah, mom time out!

  9. Krissy says

I appreciate my husband trying – but most of the time he picks gifts I will never wear or use. I’d love it if he’s just get me a gift card or at least check out my “My Style” pinterest board, lol.

I really want a spa day to get a nice deep tissue massage. That’s all I want

My gift of choice doesn’t cost a thing, as far as money goes. I would like a day with not household chores. My mom had a rule about our birthdays: No working on your birthday!. I like that for Mother’s Day.

Truthfully, I’ll be happy with a huge, huge, HUGE nap on Sunday afternoon. ๐Ÿ™‚ That’s all I ask. ๐Ÿ™‚

This post made me crack up laughing. I can think of a million other things other than flowers I’d like my husband to get me. Diamonds are nice ๐Ÿ™‚

Well I’m excited for all weekend. But
Tomorrow is my 40th birthday and then there’s Sunday being Mother’s Day

  15. Carly Bellard says

I am fine with anything really. For the past 3 holidays- my husband did NOTHING. All you have to do is get the kids to scribble on a piece of paper and call it a card! Ok- venting over. I may just go buy myself a gift as you suggested!!

  16. Kathy says

    May 9, 2014 at 10:07 pm

I would love some time to myself. I’m not going to lieโ€ฆ I haven’t had much since becoming a mom.

  17. Janell Poulette says

    May 9, 2014 at 10:27 pm

My husband and I have a deal that we don’t really get each other things for holidays. We tend to let each other have things we want during the year. We do let each other sleep in and not do any chores on their special day and thats good enough for me ๐Ÿ™‚

  18. Karen says

    May 9, 2014 at 10:38 pm

All I really want for Mother’s Day is a break! I want to sleep later, not have to worry about getting my daughter ready, shower in peace and relax. A new wallet would be nice too!

  19. femmefrugality says

    May 10, 2014 at 12:48 am

Oh, the uninterrupted sleep. I’ve heard of this, but am fairly certain it’s a myth. I think I’m getting razors and a candle for mother’s day. Husband is not so good at hiding “gifts.”

  20. Chrysa says

    May 10, 2014 at 2:11 am

I’m not a mom, so I won’t be expecting a present, of course! I’m getting my mom a gift card for the gardening center she loves.

  21. Jenn @ The Rebel Chick says

The best Mother’s Day gifts are the ones that took time and forethought to purchase!

I’d be delighted to sleep in a little late and get breakfast in bed. It isn’t happening though, as I’m taking my Mom to the airport.

Sleeping in and breakfast in bed sounds divine! I could only wish for that!

I just want my baby to feel better for Mother’s Day. A lot of late nights with a coughing baby….we need sleep!

  25. Pam says

My husband got my car detailed today for me for Mother’s Day. Although I am not his mother, it was a fabulous gift. Couldn’t have asked for anything better right now.

  26. Ashley says

Why am I suddenly singing “You don’t bring me flowers. . .” I hope you get everything you want for Mother’s Day.

  27. Lisa says

I honestly would love to have a few hours of quite in a clean house. That is all. ๐Ÿ™‚

All I really want in to be able to sleep in, uninterrupted. After that, maybe a nice brunch and a lazy family day.

  29. Shell says

    May 11, 2014 at 8:09 pm

I like presents that have me specifically in mind. Not the generic everyone gets this for their mom things, but perfect for me.

  30. Janeane Davis says

    May 11, 2014 at 10:41 pm

Quite a few of my friends were not happy with their Mother’s Day gifts because they hinted at what they wanted. Instead, I told my family what I wanted and had a great result.

  31. Tracey says

This post is hilarious! I’m not a mom yet but I got my mother and mother-in-law something thoughtful this year.

  32. Chelsea says

It’s so true- no one actually EARNS a birthday. But moms do work hard for this day every year and they should be absolutely spoiled on it!
