Traveling with Your Dog? You Need these Apps

November 14, 2017 by amushro

If you’re traveling with your four-legged friend, you’ll need more than their food and a few treats. From finding the best places to stay while on vacation, to making sure your pet stays healthy on your trip, here are five apps you’ll want to download before traveling with your dog.
BringFido – If you are traveling with your dog, you need to download this free app. With BringFido, you’ll be able to search for pet-friendly hotels, parks, beaches, and restaurants. Users have noted they found better rates for hotels on BringFido than just checking the hotel website or other hotel discount sites. By using BringFido, you’ll see each hotel’s pet policy, if there is a pet fee or any weight restrictions, and guest reviews. You can also add your own ratings, pictures, and events that you find on your travels and to help other users. Another great feature, there is a contact tab where you can get in touch with a dog-travel expert via phone or email.
DogVacay – Sadly not every place you take your dog will be pet-friendly. So download this app to find nearby dog sitters. You can read reviews and with every reservation you get free pet insurance and 24/7 support included.

5 Genius Bungee Cord Hacks for Car Organization

November 9, 2017 by amushro

I’m always looking for a way to keep my car more organized, and it seems that bungee cords might be the answer. You probably have a few bungee cords floating around in your garage, so instead of letting them gather dust, use those bungee cords to try a few of these hacks. To keeping your groceries from spilling everywhere to making playtime in the car easier and more organized for your kids, bungee cords are the key to hacking car organization.

Grocery Bag Hack – Keep all of your groceries organized and upright in the back of your car using a bungee cord. Start by stringing the bungee cord through all of your grocery bag handles. Then attach the bungee cord both sides of your trunk. Now your groceries won’t spill while you drive and will save you time when you are unloading your groceries at home.
Stroller Storage Hack – Save space in your trunk by using a bungee cord to keep your stroller upright in your trunk. This way you will still have space for other large items. This also works great for suitcases too.

On-The-Go Snacks for Busy Families

November 8, 2017 by amushro

When fall kicks into high gear, it’s not just fall foliage and cooler weather we have to look forward to—although those are pretty amazing. The fall season also means back to school and back to busy afternoons and evenings for you and your kids. So if you find yourself in your car shuttling your kids to practices and games almost every day, you need to keep up your energy, too. Instead of grabbing chips or candy or spending a fortune at a drive thru, here are on-the-go snacks that every busy mom needs to take in the car.

Make your own protein box – The best part of these protein boxes is that you can make them on a Sunday and have them ready to go for the entire week. Grab a few plastic containers and make up a protein box full of healthy snacks that will keep you full and won’t blow your healthy eating. Start with a hardboiled egg, cheese stick, apple slices, and veggies. Portion out these foods for the week, pack them in a container, and grab them on the way out the door.

For the days you need a sweet fix – Pack slices of apples, peanut butter and yogurt into a plastic container. Mixing the peanut butter and the yogurt makes a delicious apple dip that hit the spot on the days you want something sweet. Toss a few napkins and a spoon into your bag so when you are hungry, you can snack in between pickup and drop-offs.
