December 7, 2019 by amushro

Listen, I LOVE the holidays. LOVE them. It’s my job to make everything merry and bright around here, but can I be honest—it’s not always so holly jolly around these parts. So to make the most of the holiday season without losing your sanity,  the kids and I are sharing some of our favorite holiday hacks over on TLC.

We started with making a holiday countdown calendar to spread out the holiday cheer throughout the month. Each day, the kids open a new surprise activity, like making memory ornaments or having an indoor campout around the Christmas tree.

This was a really fun video to make–so come check it out!

The Best Tailgate Hacks!

September 18, 2019 by amushro

It’s football season!  Starting off the night early with a tailgate add even more fun to the night. Before heading down to the game, here are some tailgate hacks to make the most of your night out.

  • If you don’t have a cooler, don’t fret. You can turn a case of beer into an instant cooler with this hack. Start by emptying out the case of beer and line it with two large shopping bags or kitchen sized garbage bags. Then put the drinks back in and top off with lots of ice.
  • If you are packing a cooler full of drinks, label the top so that everyone can easily find their drinks without having to fish through ice. So put beer on one side and soda on the other and put a label on the lid of the cooler.
  • You’ll never have to worry about losing your car with this hack. Tie a large helium balloon on an extra-long string to your car. So even if you feel like your car is lost in the crowd, you and your friends will easily be able to spot your vehicle.

Tips to Get Your Car More Organized

September 16, 2019 by amushro

If you are looking around at your car and thinking “I have got to get organized,” well, we’ve got some tips for you. From managing your kids’ stuff to tackling you console and even your trunk space, here are simple organization ideas to get your car organized and to keep it organized.

  • Keep your trunk space organized but not cluttered but purchasing a few collapsible bins in different sizes. This way you can load up everything from groceries, supplies for a quick trip, or things you keep in the car all the time, and they won’t roll around in your trunk. When you’re not using them, just fold them and stack them in your car. Velcro is also a great way to get the bins to stay put.
  • Keep trash from piling up in your car by purchasing a plastic cereal dispenser from the dollar store and turn it into a trash can. Fill the container with a few plastic bags and store it in the car-the car door is a great place.
  • If your console is getting out of control, grab a few zippered pencil pouches. You can organize everything that needs to stay in the car, change, and all of your other essentials, then just zip the bags and place them back into the console.
  • For your kids, fill up a shower caddy with their books, games, papers, crayons pencils, and snacks. Before they leave the car, remind them to put everything bag into the shower caddy to keep everything neat and tidy.
